Kimball Hotel VRF Installation

The original rooftop units were 18 years old and failing frequently. Hotel guests experienced comfort issues with inconsistent temperatures, and operating costs were excessive. The hotel needed a solution that would minimize renovation disruption during peak season while providing superior guest comfort and energy efficiency.

We designed and installed a Mitsubishi City Multi VRF system with 8 modular outdoor units serving 120 indoor wall-mounted units. The system includes sophisticated building automation and zoned control allowing housekeeping to adjust guest room temperatures independently. Heat recovery capabilities allow simultaneous heating and cooling of different zones, maximizing efficiency year-round.

Complete removal of old rooftop units, structural reinforcement for new outdoor units, refrigerant line installation throughout all 4 floors, installation of 120 wall-mounted indoor units, integrated controls and BACnet building automation integration, full system commissioning and staff training.

Guest comfort scores increased 40% based on post-renovation surveys. Energy consumption decreased 35% compared to the previous system. Monthly utility costs dropped by $4,200. System downtime decreased from 12-15 incidents per year to zero in the first 18 months of operation.
